Fine Art Images

Fine art photography is first and foremost about the artist. It is not about capturing what the camera sees; it is about capturing what the artist sees. In fine art photography, therefore, the artist uses the camera as one more tool to create a work of art. The camera is used to make an art piece that reveals the vision of the artist and makes a statement of that vision rather than documenting the subject before the lens.

Church Shadows

Church Shadows

This was taken in a small village in southern France
The shape and the dynamics of the image with the halo of light create a very atmospheric photograph.

Holocaust Memorial

Holocaust Memorial

This was taken at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin
A very moving and thought provoking piece of art and memorial to those people who lost their live under terrible circumstances. It was very difficult to capture the atmosphere and mood of the memorial however i felt the lone figure isolated in the granite block goes some way to capturing the mood. This photograph has won several prestigious awards and is one of my finest pieces of work

This was in a modern art installation showing a film
The projector was the point of interest and not the installation rendered as a grainy image this evokes a feeling of days gone by.

Ghosts of 5th Avenue

This was taken New York
As we look up through the glass ceiling we see the people walk along 5th avenue.this multi award winning image creates a strong monochrome graffic image

Under No Pressure

The simple geometry and the range of tones presents a nostalgic image that is surprisingly engaging.

Fairground Attraction #2

The blur of the walzers the control booth. This captures a point in our youth and a view on a perceived more romantic era.
