Street Photography

Street photography is my real passion, the ability to capture a moment in life that makes a connection and a statement. The images here have been captured from all over the world from as far and wide as New York to Tokyo however the location is not the important thing but the interaction with the people and the environment that matters.

Generally speaking there are two styles of street photography;

  1. The isolation of an individual within a space to generate a direct connection with that person and their environment (sometimes referred to as environmental portraits)

  2. A number of people with a clear focal point creating a feeling of mass movement and inclusion of the viewer in that world.

I myself in general favour option 1 as I feel this generates personal connection with the individual and the stronger sens of  environment which gives greater context to the image and the individual, as well as making the image more "edgy".

My key influences are
